It is a shocking – and heartbreaking – statistic that suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged between 15 and 44. For every death by suicide, it is estimated that as many as 30 people attempt to end their own lives. That is approximately 65,300 suicide attempts each year in Australia.
Mental illness was for many years a taboo subject and was not discussed in an open forum. This is now changing, and the role the brain’s chemical balance – or imbalance – can play on a person’s general well-being is now becoming widely accepted.
At Primal Organix, we know how important it is to have an open dialogue on mental health and we are proud to acknowledge “Headspace” as our social charity.
The Entourage Effect
The Entourage Effect refers to the synergy of common well-known cannabinoids.
These organic compounds are naturally found in plants and combining their properties may have a therapeutic effect on an individual’s Endocannabinoid System.
This Entourage Effect is what is responsible for giving you the munchies or suppressing your appetite. Leaving you feeling energised, or unable to get up off the couch. They affect people differently.
Terpenes can intensify or diminish these effects. This synergy impacts on our neurological and physiological systems, and is greater than the sum of the individual compounds themselves.
The end result of all this is that Terpenes show potential to assist in the treatment of many debilitating physiological and psychological conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression, mania, muscle pain, nerve pain, inflammation, poor immunity, bacterial infections, seizures and even malignant cell growths.
